Academic Profiles

Steps

Note: Google Scholar doesn't have a field in your profile dedicated to your ORCID iD.
However, you can enter your ORCID iD in one of the three additional name fields in Step 3, below.

  1. Go to https://scholar.google.com/

  2. Click on SIGN IN in the upper right hand corner and use your @ltu.edu email credentials.

  3. Click on My Profile on the upper left corner of the Google Scholar launch page.

  4. Complete the four fields in the PROFILE section and then click NEXT:
    • Name: enter as it appears on your articles. You may enter up to 3 additional names you have published under.
    • Affiliation: enter your position/title, comma, Lawrence Technological University.
    • Areas of Interest: be sure to complete this. It makes it easier for others to discover your work through keyword searches.
    • Homepage: unless you have a specific homepage to link to, enter the URL of your profile in the LTU Faculty Directory.

  5. In the Add Articles You Wrote page, use the search bar to locate your work.
    • Be sure to search all the possible variations of your name (full name, last comma first, last comma first initial, etc.)
    • If you are unable to locate your publications by your name, try searching by title and institution name
    • Click on the box to the left of your publications. You will notice the selected number on the top right increase
    • Once all of your articles are selected, click on the white arrow in the blue box next to the word Selected.
    • If there are still articles that you can not find through Google Scholar, please consult the Optimize H-Index section.

  6. Choose whether to auto-update or manually review future additions to the list of articles Google Scholar attaches to your profile.

  7. Check the box next to Make my profile public. Click on Done.
