Increasingly publishers, organizations and governments are requiring a data management plan (DMP) to promote transparency, reproducibility, and responsible data stewardship in research. (See the 2013 OSTP Memo for increasing access to publicly funded research.) This site has been built to help you navigate the required data management policies within known entities.
Even if you are not required to create a DMP by funders and/or publishers, you may benefit from writing a DMP for your research project. Your DMP will be a document that you and your team reference to answer questions that may come up during your research.
Please note: while this webpage exists to assist you, it is by no means exhaustive. Please be sure to read your specific research application and policy documents carefully and adhere to the guidelines within them (for data planning and otherwise).
