Faculty Workshops: 2nd Annual Faculty Workshops

2025 Faculty Workshops: Unlock all of the benefits of being on campus... even if the campus is Canvas!

Tuesday, August 19, 2025: REGISTER HERE!

AM Session (9:00AM - 12:00PM)

The AM cohort is focused on supporting research on campus.

Come for an engaging session exploring industry leading publishing tools from IEEE and showcasing campus-wide initiatives designed to elevate scholarship, including:

IEEE Dataport: A research data repository that enables users to store, share, access, and cite large datasets across all disciplines.
IEEE Open Access: Publish freely accessible articles, with many institutions reducing or covering article processing charges through transformative agreements.
The Center for Teaching and Learning: Emerging faculty support office for pedagogical grants and research. (Expected launch Spring Semester)
Faculty Writing Support: supports the Office of Sponsored Research to assist faculty researchers with writing grants.
Managing Researcher Profiles: Manage ORCID and publication data in Google Scholar, SCOPUS and Web of Science to maximize H-Index impact.
Navigating the Dissertation Process: LTU Library overview of benchmarks, requirements and timelines for you to help students to the finish line.
Sponsored Research: expert support for grant proposals and funded projects, ongoing education via Research Workshops and Ask Me Anything sessions.

This session is for the benefit of all faculty but will be most impactful for faculty researchers, faculty who publish through IEEE and graduate advisors.

Physical location TBD. Because this year we are focusing on remote teaching and learning, this will also be broadcast live via ZOOM.

PM Session (1:00PM - 4:00PM)

The PM cohort is focused on supporting faculty: whether you teach online, in person, or both—full-time or part-time—your students turn to you for help far beyond your subject. But you're not alone in that role.

Join us for a concise, high-impact session with campus experts from:

Career Services: Professional development through major exploration, job search strategies, résumé guidance, interview prep, and salary negotiation coaching.
Clinical Counseling: Guidance on how to refer students, sample outreach language and streamlined online scheduling for confidential mental health support.
The Horldt Writing Center: Student development across all disciplines, on campus and online tutoring focused on planning, developing, and revising written work.
The LTU Library: Research assistance and instruction, on campus and online. Faculty and student access through enhanced suite of online access options.
Student Access: Partnering with faculty to navigate the requirements and best practices for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Student Affairs: Positive campus culture through student engagement initiatives and guidance on compliance, academic misconduct, and behavioral expectations.
The Student Success Center: fosters academic and personal growth with advising, tutoring, and coaching—promoting holistic, individualized paths to graduation.

This session is for the benefit of all faculty but will be most impactful for remote instructors, adjunct faculty and new faculty.

Physical location TBD. Because this year we are focusing on remote teaching and learning, this will also be broadcast live via ZOOM.
