The LTU Library is located in the basement of the Wayne H. Buell Management Building, one floor below campus dining. It can be reached by the elevator at the North end of Buell or the staircase at the South end of Buell. A map of campus can be located here.

You may call the library during its hours of operation at 248.204.3000. Please note that assistance may not be available during extended "study hours" at the library.

This Research Guide is intended for an introduction to library services for all LTU Students and Faculty. (More specific Research Guides are in development for Graduate Students and Faculty.)


How to do Research is an overview of the steps, standards and tools necessary to perform research in an academic environment.

Items at LTU Library is an overview of how to search LTU's TechCat library catalog and what types of materials are available to students in the library, through its subscription databases and through Interlibrary Loan from other institutions.

Items outside of LTU is an overview of how to use materials at other libraries, including the MOBIUS system for LTU students in Missouri.

Online Resources is an overview of academic resources available to students via the Internet.

Research Guides is an overview to online tools developed by the librarians at the LTU Library to support LTU's academic and library programs. We highly recommend that you take a look at these.

Citation Assistance is an overview to the RefWorks citation tool and includes links to tutorials on how to set-up and use your RefWorks account (free to all LTU Students and Faculty).
