Finding a Book
The easiest place to start is here at our library. But if you don't find what you are looking for, we have a few options. Just follow the steps below:
- 1. TechCat+ (Lawrence Tech Library Catalog)This can potentially be the fastest way of finding a book. If we have it, you can just come into to the library to check it out.
- 2. MelCat (Michigan eLibrary Catalog)
This is the next easiest way to find books. If you find a book via MeL, you can have it shipped to our library for free. You'll get an email when it arrives usually in about one week. - 3. Interlibrary Loan (ILL)This is the last option (and can be the longest in terms of wait time) for finding books/dvds/articles, etc. Simply log your request, and we will begin to try and locate your book. Sometimes, it doesn't work out. ILL requests typically take one week or more to arrive. Currently, there is no charge for ILL requests, but occasionally we may contact you if the charge is beyond what we can pay.
